When you’re experiencing PTSD or its symptoms, or feeling emotionally exhausted, it becomes challenging to provide the compassionate and sensitive care that women and birthing people deserve. This isn't why you chose this profession. It’s crucial to access mental health resources and trauma support during these times. Change is possible, and we’re here to offer crisis support when you need it most.
Our aim is to bring about positive change by lobbying employers and government to reduce and eradicate racial discrimination in the healthcare sector. Our nurse-led organisation, Equality 4 Black Nurses, has been developed in response to systemic racism and its disproportionate and adverse effects on Black health care staff and Black mothers in the UK, particularly in the context of accessing vital crisis support and mental health resources, as well as trauma support.
