Josephine is a midwife, researcher, and consultant with more than a decade of experience across NHS maternity care settings and independent practice. She specialises in personalised care, birth trauma, and staff retention, and has led award-winning work supporting both families and maternity professionals. In 2023, she developed and taught a workshop for student midwives entitled ‘Providing Choice Within a Culture of Fear’, exploring the challenges of delivering personalised care within maternity services.

Marley is a registered midwife, author, educator, and speaker with more than 15 years of experience supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. A passionate advocate for informed choice, consent, and autonomy in maternity care, she is committed to helping both parents and professionals navigate complex decisions with confidence and compassion. Through her books, teaching, and speaking engagements, including co-authoring Birthing with Davina McCall, Marley champions respectful, evidence-based care that is free from bias, coercion, and unnecessary harm.

Lily is a midwife, educator, and researcher whose work focuses on ethical and equitable maternity care. Since qualifying in 2018, she has specialised in areas including diabetes, emergency care, and education, and has also worked as a lecturer at London South Bank University. Alongside her work with White Ribbon Alliance UK and Make Birth Better, Lily is currently undertaking PhD research exploring consent in labour and the implications of a feminist ethics of care framework.

Paula is a registered midwife and doctoral research student whose career spans clinical practice, education, and equity‑focused scholarship. She has previously held senior lecturing and clinical skills roles in higher education, contributing to the development of future midwives through evidence‑based teaching and culturally responsive practice. Paula investigates how power and race shape experiences within maternity care and midwifery education.
